Colin Bested
Effective Altruism Toronto Community Builder – CEA Funded
Colin is an aspiring effective altruist: he aims to use evidence and careful analysis to help others as much as possible. He is interested in movement building, communication, core life-skills, motivation, and well-being.
Colin has been working to grow and support the EA Toronto community since early 2018.

Kale Ridsdale
Effective Altruism Toronto Community Liaison – Animals
Kale has worked in the social sector for nearly a decade in project management, and program development and evaluation. She joined We Animals Media in spring of 2019 and before that Kale worked with Animal Charity Evaluators. Outside of her professional roles, Kale has produced multiple media arts projects. She holds a master’s degree in Philosophy from University College Dublin, and a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food from Ryerson University.
Kale has been a member of the EA Community since 2018 and has been our community liaison since 2019.

William saunders
Effective Altruism Toronto Community Member – AI Safety
William is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Toronto, collaborating and interning with Ought on machine learning projects. William previously interned at the Future of Humanity Institute with Owain Evans, worked as a software engineer on Google’s search ranking team, and completed a Masters degree at the University of Waterloo.
William has been a member of the EA Community since early 2017 and gave a presentation on AI safety with Eric Langlois in 2018.

Effective Altruism Toronto Community Member – Operations
Andrew joined Charity Entrepreneurship in early 2020 and before that Andrew worked in humanitarian protection for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Myanmar, and in logistics for Médecins Sans Frontières in South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He holds an undergraduate degree in International Development and a master’s degree in International Relations.
